The nearest major airport is Federico Fellini International Airport (RMI / LIPR). This airport has international flights from Rimini, Italy and is 69 km from the center of Ravenna, Italy. You can’t fly to this airport from the UK
Another major airport is Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ / LIPE), which has international and domestic flights from Bologna, Italy and is 84 km from Ravenna, Italy.
From Bologna Airport you will need to get to Bologna Central station, from there you can get a regular train which takes between an hour and 90 minutes.

Ravenna is a walker’s paradise, to say nothing of a shopping heaven for some. The old town is a mainly pedestrian area with cafes and bars on every corner and some hidden away through small access alleys. Note that everything is a little more expensive near the Basilica.

Since 1966 the Stadio Bruno Benelli, named after the mayor who wanted the building, hosts games of Ravenna. The stadium opened its gates on 25 September 1966 for Ravenna-Carrara, the first day of the Group B series C 1966/67, although the official opening takes place four days after the friendly against Juventus.
Ravenna FC play in Serie D. The club was founded in 1913 but has merged with other teams, gone bust a few times most recently in 2012. They have played in Serie B but mostly in Serie D
The stadium holds 12,020 and was opened in 1966.

The stadium is a 30 minute walk from the centre of town or 15 minutes on a bus. Busses are regular and you can get the 3, 4 or 5 from the centre to the stadium.

The Basilica of Sant’ Apollinare Nuovo costs about €7 to enter and see the entire building and the amazing mosaics. If you like old churches and interesting architecture, this is a must see.
For those interested in historical figures, the town also contains Dante’s Tomb (author of the Divine Comedy). It is less than a 1 km walk from the Basilica.
