La Liga Kick Off Times
Planning a football trip to see a Spanish team can be difficult. Kick-off times are are usually not confirmed until three or four weeks before the matches take place and there are a wide range of possible kick-off times to suit TV audiences which makes planning flight times difficult sometimes.
The TV schedule for 2016/7 has not been announced however for the last season a special timetable was devised for August in order to avoid the intense heat, as from September there was normally one match on Friday night and one on Monday, with four games spaced out between 4.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. on Saturday, and four more on Sunday between mid-day and 9.00 p.m. Second division matches are mainly scheduled for Saturday or Sunday afternoon, but can take place any time between Friday and Monday.
Once the European Competitions start, the Spanish FA moves fixtures to accommodate their competing teams. So before Champions Leagues games Real Madrid and Barcelona always played on a Saturday last season. Atletico Madrid were not as consistent however playing on a Friday before some games and on a Sunday before others.
